Season Tickets Going Fast

Los Angeles, CA - Season tickets for the 2008-09 campaign of Loyola Marymount basketball are now on sale and driven by one of the best home schedules in years they are going fast. In his first season as head coach of the Lions, Bill Bayno and the LMU men's basketball program will play one of the best home schedules in recent memory with the possibility of at least four ranked teams coming to Gersten Pavilion this coming season. The season at Gersten Pavilion will begin and end with a bang as ranked Notre Dame will start the Bayno era in Los Angeles on Nov. 21 while Saint Mary's will close the schedule on Feb. 28. The Irish, Gaels, San Diego and Gonzaga all went to the tournament in 2008 and all are expected to challenge again this season. Each will come to Gersten this coming season. As for the women, it is just as good they once again host a pair of holiday tournament - the LMU Ayres Hotel Thanksgiving Tournament and the LMU Holiday Tournament. Teams coming to Gersten include Georgetown, Boise State, UNLV and Long Beach State. Both teams will celebrate a joint homecoming this season on Dec. 6 as the women will take on UNLV at 2 p.m. followed by the men playing Wyoming later that day. Fans can be part of all the action by getting season tickets today. Call the LMU ticket office at (310) 338-LION or go online to secure tickets. In addition, tickets to the 2009 West Coast Conference Basketball Tournament are also on sale and will be available for a limited time only. It will be the first year the tournament will be held at neutral site, taking place at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Tickets for the tournament can also be purchased through the LMU Ticket Office.
